ST. ANTHONY'S WINS CHSAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

     St. Anthony's tallied 250.5 points to outdistance Monsignor Farrell (220.5) and rival Chaminade (195.5) at the CHSAA Championships held at Msgr. Farrell HS. The Friars crowned four champions including state bronze medalist and Michigan-bound Ben Lamantia (39-1, 158-22) at 126 pounds. Winning their second CHSAA crowns were Adam Santoro (145) of Fordham Prep, Richie Jones (44-4, 213-60) of St. Joseph's at 182 and Mike Newman (30-2, 90-20) of Farrell at 220. State place-winner and Dunkirk HS transfer Tito Colom (47-4, 125-21), now at St. Francis, rolled to the 113-pound title.
