             MAT NOTES:

                Hauppauge (17-0) defeated East Islip (15-4), 46-26, in a battle of League IV powers at East Islip HS. The Eagles were paced by county finalist Chris Mauriello (29-1) who scored with early takedowns and clamped his opponent at the 2:14 mark of the 138-pound bout, along with lightweight standouts Jake Silverstein (99) and Ben Tepperman (24-4) who used his bar-arm to secure the fall at 113 pounds. Other top performers were John Donahue (160) and James Louison (285), as both registered falls in their matches.

              East Islip was led by a trio of All-County matmen; Jesse Dellavecchia (27-3) at 120, Dennis Ferro (24-3) at 152 and county finalist Eric Adon (24-1) at 170 pounds. Dellavecchia had a slick ankle pick takedown and later used tight half/stack for a second period pin, Ferro converted a series of single leg takedowns to defeat highly-regarded Francisco Bisono, 7-2 and Adon used a barrage of single leg and snap/spin takedowns en route to a 23-8 tech fall. The Redmen also had decisions by Nick Barber (132) and Jon Wilson (22-5) in the 220-pound class.

          

           

        

                

 

Hauppauge's John Donahue stacks East Islip's Mike Reynolds in the 160 pound match. Donahue picked up the fall as the #4 Eagles took the dual 46-26.
