Mat Notes:

In the marquee match of the dual meet 2022 state champion, sophomore LB's Dunia Sibomana (70-9 career mark) opened the scoring with a blast double leg takedown and after an Euceda escape and nearly a single leg takedown, Sibomana fought off and responded with another double leg takedown to move the score to 4-1. At the start of the second period and a  wild scramble, Sibomana clamped on a tight over head cradle to pin Suffolk County champion Jason Euceda at the 2:24 mark in their 116-pound bout.

Brentwood's top-ranked  Jason Kwaak (5-0) defeated highly-regarded Greg Milone, 8-4, for a solid decision at 160 pounds. Both are juniors, and will compete for individual county and state titles in February.

Congratulations to both head coaches and National-Hall-of-Fame members Ray Adams ( Long Beach) and Ralph Napolitano of the host team Brentwood, for a hard fought and well-contested dual meet amongst Long Island top squads.  After the match, coach Adams responded: " It was a great dual meet and the boys batted tough." Both teams were extremely competitive and exhibited sportsmanship throughout the dual. These elite teams should vie for dual meet titles in their respective counties in  late January.
