The 1975 ( nearly 50 years to the day- March 15th) and 1981 NCAA Division I Championships were held at the Jadwin Gymnasium, and in both years the team champion was the Iowa Hawkeyes. Winning NCAA titles in '81 were Gene Mills (118), a NJ state champion and the best wrestler in Syracuse University history, along with the Banach twins from Port Jervis, NY.
