MAT NOTES:
Two former NYS champions reached the championship finals, Max Gallagher (25-7) of Bayport Blue-Point HS - (Penn) at 125 and Cornell's Tyler Ferrara (12-4) of Chenango Forks HS at 133. The other NYS champ was Kole Mulhauser (14-8) of Princeton who finished fourth at 184, pounds. That trio are all underclassman and 2025 NCAA qualifiers.
The Big Red of Cornell crowned five champions, including three returning All-Americans, #2 ranked sophomore Meyer Shapiro (11-1) at 157, Julian Ramirez (20-1) at 165 and Chris Foca (19-1) at 184. Shapiro, an NCAA bronze medalist, used a barrage of takedowns, including slick shrugs and ankle picks enroute to 19-2 tech fall in the finals. Cornell, 2024 NCAA team runners-up, will have ten NCAA qualifiers at the 2025 NCAA meet. The combined record of the ten Ivy champions was an impressive 185 wins and just 29 losses.

Outstanding Wrestler - Meyer Shapiro
Luke Stout (14-2) from Princeton won the 197-pound title. His younger brother, Mac (Pitt), won the ACC title, also at 197 pounds. The brothers hail from Mt. Lebanon, PA, and are both nationally ranked, they could meet at the 2025 NCAAs.

Cornell's Meyer Shapiro (11-1) works for his reversal in the Ivy League's 157 pound final. Shapiro won by technical fall and was voted the Outstanding Wrestler.
Cross Wasilewski (22-3) from Penn takes Cornell's Ethan Fernandez to the mat. Wasilewski won this 149 pound final.

Chris Foca (19-1) from Cornell used this bear hug throw to secure the takedown in overtime to win the 184 pound championship against Penn's Maximus Hale. The win secured the team title for Cornell.
